Track days and experiences

Posted by admin on Jan-18-2010 under Track days

A track day or an experience day – driving a super car around a track is a great way of experiencing the real joys of a Aston, Ferrari or other exotic beast without having the hassle of being stuck in traffic and worrying about the integrity of the car. You experience the cars at full pelt going round a track with expert guidance. This is an experience for a petrol head or just anyone who loves the sight, sound and experience of driving these cars.

Days and experiences are quite cheap and range from less than £100 and make ideal gifts. A Super car track day really is a great experience for all ages and something to be recommended on your “do it before you die list”. Happy and safe driving.

Supercar insurance

So you’ve bought the Aston Martin you always wanted and now need insurance. Depending on how you use your car is how much the insurance premium will be. Supercar insurance is rather like standard car insurance and depends on a variety of factors such as location, price and type of vehicle and usage and of course your age. There are specialist brokers who deal in supercar insurance and its well worth contacting a specialist as some standard insurance companies that would insure your mini will not insure your Aston.

If its your first time renting or hiring an exotic car then here are some point that you should consider to make the most of your experience. Its a great experience to drive an aston martin, to be left alone with it – take it round to friends or show it off by parking outside your local restaurant. Whether you like the status that comes with an Aston Martin, Ferrari or Bentley for example or simply the experience of the machine or both. This is now available to you without having to stump up hundreds of thousands of pounds. You can hire an Aston Martin by the hour, day, week or even year….and that goes for just about every car you think of.

1. Find locations close to you and where you want to the car to be. You will often be charged per mile after a certain limit and the price per mile can be quite expensive – so its better to ensure that the car is used locally if possible.

2. Negotiate on price. No price is set in stone, all prices have some flexibility in them. You can ring them and ask what discounts they can offer if the time you wish to use the car is quiet also shop around for the best deals.

3. Be wary about hidden costs and charges. Most packages include insurance for the vehicle so its unlucky an extra charge would be made for insurance.

4. Do check what the desposit they expect for the vehicle and that it is not excessive. You don’t want your experience marred by the cost of damage done to the vehicle. So before you pay do check fully the terms and conditions of the hire arrangement and that the deposit (if required) is sensible. After all if you park the car and somebody scratches it while you are not looking how much will you be expected to pay out of your deposit. Get a feel for the operation by asking such questions.

5. When taking delivery of the car, its is imperative that you check for signs of damage to the car however minor. If possible have them pointed out and noted and use a camera phone for example to make a note of them before. But it is really best to ensure that you accept the car only when you are happy with it.

Hiring a supercar should be a fun experience and most operators are honest and have integrity, but that said its always best to be on the lookout for potential problems. Happy Driving!
